Everything you need to know about our specialized editing services, credit system, and technical delivery.
General Service Info
What hardware and software do I need?
All you need is a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). Our site is hosted on high-speed servers, meaning there is zero software to install. All uploads, management, and downloads happen within our secure cloud portal.
What is the difference between clipping paths and masking?
Clipping paths are hand-drawn vector paths created with the Pen Tool. They are best for objects with hard, smooth edges (like shoes or furniture).
Image Masking (Alpha Channels) is pixel-based and used for complex edges like fly-away hair, fur, or translucent glassware where a sharp vector edge would look unnatural.
Can I use ClipThePic for images shot on a smartphone?
Yes! While we work with professional RAW files, we can easily process smartphone-captured product shots. We will perform color correction and background removal to make them marketplace-ready for Amazon or Shopify.
Privacy & Portfolio Policy
Why don't you show a public portfolio of client work?
At ClipThePic, Client Privacy is our #1 priority. Many of our clients are professional photographers and global brands whose images are high-value intellectual property. We believe that showcasing your private projects to win new business is a breach of trust. Instead, we prove our quality by offering a Free Trial on your own images.
How can I judge your quality if I can't see a gallery?
We believe the best way to judge our expertise is by seeing how we handle your specific products. Stock galleries are often misleading. By registering for a free trial, you can upload 5 of your actual images, and we will edit them to your exact specifications at no cost.
Do you sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)?
Yes. While our standard Terms of Service already include strict confidentiality clauses, we frequently sign custom NDAs for our corporate and high-volume studio clients. Simply contact our support team to provide your documentation.
Will my images ever be used in your 'Before/After' demos?
Never without your explicit written consent. The samples you see on our website are either created from licensed house assets or provided by partners who have specifically agreed to help us demonstrate a technical process. Your images remain 100% private.
File Transfer & Volume
How do I upload bulk files (100+)?
For large volumes, we recommend using our integrated FTP/SFTP service. Once registered, you can request dedicated credentials from your dashboard. This allows you to maintain your local folder structure while uploading thousands of images simultaneously.
Do you support large RAW formats?
Absolutely. We support CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, and DNG formats. Please note that RAW files are significantly larger and may take longer to upload depending on your connection speed.
Can I just send a link from Dropbox or WeTransfer?
Yes. If your files are already hosted elsewhere, you can simply paste the shared link into the 'Project Description' box when creating a new job in the dashboard.
Credits & Billing
Do my purchased credits ever expire?
No. Unlike other services, ClipThePic credits never expire. Whether you use them today or next year, your balance remains valid. The only exception is 'Trial Credits,' which expire after 30 days of account inactivity.
What is your refund policy?
We provide unlimited revisions on every job until you are 100% satisfied. If we are unable to meet your technical requirements after revisions, we will provide a full refund of the credits used for that specific image.
Do you offer monthly subscriptions?
We prefer a 'Pay-As-You-Need' model. By purchasing Credit Bundles, you get subscription-level pricing without being locked into a monthly contract. This allows your post-production costs to scale exactly with your seasonal photography volume.
Delivery & SLA
How quickly will I receive my edited images?
Our standard turnaround is 24 hours. However, we offer 12-hour and 6-hour express delivery options for urgent projects. Enterprise clients can also secure a custom SLA based on their specific daily volume.
Why does the background look the same after I download a clipping path?
In most cases, we embed the Clipping Path within the original file format (JPG or TIFF). Open the image in Photoshop and check the 'Paths' palette. The image still has a background so you have the flexibility to place it on any color or layout yourself.
Can I request specific file naming conventions?
Yes. This is common for e-commerce. You can specify naming rules (e.g., SKU_Front.jpg) in your job instructions, and our production team will ensure the outputs match your inventory system perfectly.
Privacy & Data Security
Are my images secure on your servers?
Yes. All transfers are encrypted via SSL/TLS. Our storage servers are protected by enterprise-grade firewalls, and only the specific production team assigned to your project can view your assets.
How long do you store my images?
We retain your original and edited files for 14 days as a safety backup. After this period, files are permanently purged from our servers to ensure your data privacy.
Will you use my photos for your own advertising?
Never without your explicit written permission. Your images are your intellectual property. We maintain strict non-disclosure standards for all our clients, especially those in the fashion and jewelry sectors.
